DOXA is HUFA’s weekly large group worship meeting. The word "doxa" stems from the ancient Greek word for glory, and we give glory to the Lord through worship, prayer, teaching, and fellowship. We often invite guest speakers, hear testimonies, and follow up the meeting with refreshments and a social. It is held every Friday from 7:30 – 9:00 pm in Fong Auditorium, located in Boylston Hall in the Yard. Newcomers are always welcome!
You can watch all previous Doxas on our Youtube Channel.
4/13/18 - Tyler Parker - You Might Be Single For a Reason
If you're a college student, sex, dating, and romance are unavoidable. The people around you are either hooking up or wishing they were. For the unbetrothed, singleness feels like a waiting room for a better life, a purposeless purgatory. But this view of singleness is not the witness of Scripture, particularly the New Testament. The Apostle Paul (a confirmed single) describes singleness as a gift. None of the Apostles (confirmed singles) chose to marry, and the God-man himself Jesus Christ (one of the tripartate Trinity but still confirmed single) fulfilled His mission on Earth without so much as a swipe through first-century Palestinian Tinder. Watch for a fun-filled, insightful, and challenging talk as ministry intern Tyler Parker '17 (confirmed life-long single) explores the theological implications of singleness as we discover why God just might want you to be single right now."
